Azíl's soft snores fill the room, and Spooky's tiny body feels like it weighs more than it should where she sleeps at the end of the bed. I like that she's with us, but I'm sure she tries to steal more of the blankets from me than one cat actually needs.

I close my eyes and try to drift back to sleep, but no matter what I try, it just won't come.

I let out a frustrated sigh and throw off the covers.

Spooky opens her eyes and glares at me, but doesn't do anything other than that. She's clearly not planning on interacting more than that.

I get out of bed and grab my shirt from the floor along with my phone and wand. I carefully head out of our bedroom, closing the door behind me softly so I don't wake Azíl, especially as he has an early meeting that's something to do with the dig and what's happening there. Though I won't pretend to understand exactly what's supposed to be going on.

I suppose it doesn't matter. Technically, my only job for the dig is that I'm a beverage specialist, and everyone's well aware that it's a nonsense role.

I flick my wand in the direction of the kettle, switching it on. Maybe a cup of Azíl's peppermint tea will be what I need to help me get back to sleep. I set my favourite mug on the side and go to the tea caddy he uses, letting out a small groan when I see it's empty. I'll have to refill it in the morning. I glance towards the door that leads down to the coffee shop, debating whether or not it's worth going down. I shake my head. It's the middle of the night and I'm trying to get to sleep, not wake myself up more. There's bound to be something in the drinks cupboard that'll do the trick.

I riffle through the various boxes and packets there, dismissing each in turn until I come to a solitary individually wrapped chamomile tea bag.

"That'll do," I mutter. I'm not crazy about herbal tea, but it's supposed to do the trick when it comes to being soothing.

I drop the bag into my mug and fill it with boiling water. The smell reminds me of why I don't drink this stuff. But it's made now.

The creak of a door makes me jump. I grab my wand and turn around, pointing it in the direction of the sound while all of the spells I learned in self-defence classes swim through my mind.

I only relax when I see Azíl's sleepy face looking at me with confusion.

"Sorry," I murmur, setting my wand down on the side.

"That is okay. Are you all right? I woke up and you were not there."

"I couldn't sleep," I admit. Picking up my tea. I take a sip and wrinkle my nose.

"What is it?" Azíl asks as he makes his way over to me, the curiosity seeming to cut through some of the sleepiness.

"It's chamomile tea," I respond.
